Editorial Policy
This page explains how the LoreGlide Team creates and maintains reading guides (like short-story lists and lesson plans) so they’re useful, verifiable, and legally safe.
Last updated: 2026-01-05
- BYOC-first: We don’t host or distribute copyrighted texts.
- Verifiable sourcing: Public domain items link to reputable public sources.
- Teacher usability: Every recommended item should be teachable (discussion prompts, content notes, or lesson focus).
What we publish
LoreGlide publishes guides that help learners and teachers choose content and read it at an appropriate difficulty. Typical formats:
- Curated lists (e.g., short stories for specific classroom scenarios)
- Lesson-plan style pages (warm-up, reading flow, discussion, writing task)
- Method articles (e.g., comprehensible input, extensive reading)
How we choose items
We prioritize relevance and teachability over “being literary.” A good classroom pick usually has clear plot, teachable craft, and manageable cultural load.
- Fits the page intent (e.g., “high school” means teachable for teens)
- Supports meaningful discussion (theme, character, conflict, choice)
- We add content notes when needed (violence, death, discrimination, etc.)
- We avoid linking to shady “free PDF” reposts for copyrighted works
How we label difficulty (B1/B2/C1)
Difficulty labels are approximate. They’re meant for practical classroom planning, not as a formal exam score.
We reference CEFR descriptors (A1–C2) and combine them with readability checks: sentence complexity, figurative language density, cultural context load, and how “self-contained” the story is for a first-time reader.
- B1: clearer plot, simpler syntax, fewer dense metaphors; good for mixed-level classes with support.
- B2: more nuanced prose, irony, symbolism, or unreliable narration; still teachable in a single unit.
- C1: heavier style, satire, or layered meaning; best for advanced learners or literature-focused classes.
Corrections & updates
We treat link rot, incorrect labeling, or missing content warnings as fixable product issues. If you report a problem, we review it and update the page.
